Cat Rescued From Car Engine On Upper West Side, Report Says

A motorist heard strange noises when starting his car on West 104th St. near Amsterdam Avenue.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — One Upper West Sider got quite the surprise while trying to start up their car Sunday afternoon only to find that a cat had gotten stuck in the vehicle's engine, according to reports.

The motorist heard a strange noise when starting their car on West 104th St. near Amsterdam Avenue around 2 p.m., the Daily News first reported. When the driver popped the car's hood to inspect the engine they spooked the cat that had managed to crawl inside, according to the report.

After the cat retreated further into the car, the Fire Department had to be called to the scene to rescue it, the Daily News reported. Firefighters worked on the rescue mission for about 30 minutes before jarring the cat free. according to the report.
