Christmas, Hanukkah Events Near UWS: See Lightings, Displays

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - There are plenty of things going on in and around the Upper West Side to celebrate the 2023 winter holidays.

Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, starts at sundown on Dec. 7, and ends at nightfall on Dec. 15. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the season.

Menorah lightings are scheduled at the following locations:

• Central Park Menorah Lighting: Dec. 7 to 14
• Brooklyn’s Largest Menorah Lighting: Dec. 7 to 14
• Seaport Chanukah Menorah Lighting & Celebration: Dec. 10

Christmas tree lightings will take place at:

• Lincoln Square Tree Lighting Ceremony: Nov. 25
• Bryant Park Winter Village: Nov. 28
• Rockefeller Christmas Tree: Nov. 29
• Central Park Holiday Lighting: Nov. 30
• East Harlem Holiday Tree Lighting: Dec. 1
• Washington Square Park Tree Lighting: Dec. 6
