Classic UWS Diner Named Among Best Breakfast Spots In New York City
A revamped Upper West Side diner was just named among the 24 best breakfast places in New York City.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — It is hard to be named among the best of anything in New York City, but an Upper West Side staple was just named among the best breakfast spots in the five boroughs.
Old John's Diner, which is a revamped version of Old John's Luncheonette, was named by Eater NY as one of the 24 best breakfast places in New York City.

"Upper West Side restaurant Old John’s Luncheonette was brought back to life earlier this year as Old John’s Diner, a revamped take on the 70-year-old neighborhood staple," wrote the Eater NY editors. "Find breakfast diner classics like ham and cheese omelets and chocolate chip waffles available every day from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m."

Old John's Luncheonette served customers on the Upper West Side for more than 70 years before closing in 2020, only to reopen in the same location during the summer of 2021 as Old John's Diner.
