Columbia U. Faculty Group's `Solidarity Forever' Song Lyrics

A group of Columbia University faculty and staff members who are opposed to how the Columbia University administration and Columbia University board of trustees have responded to the pro-BDS/pro-divestment student protests on the Upper West Side campus since October 2023, recently created a rewritten version of the "Solidarity Forever" labor movement song, which contains the following lyrics:

When our halls of learning tremble, when our voices can’t be heard,
When the trustees yield to power, and our mission is obscured,
When the truth is under fire, when our freedoms are denied,

And every Monday from 12-1 some members of this Columbia University faculty group gather for a silent vigil at 116 and Broadway outside the locked gates dressed in black to protest CU’s failure to protect students and scholars. In addition, this same faculty group will be holding a speak out/teach-in at the Sundial on the Upper West Side campus to protest against the Columbia University administration's adoption of the false and historically inaccurate "IHRA definition" of alleged "anti-Semitism" as Columbia University's policy.).
