"This shelter will be the first of its kind in this Community District, offering 200 women experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges the opportunity to get back on their feet safely and closer to their anchors of life in these unprecedented times," Neha Sharma, a spokesperson from the Department of Homeless Services told Patch in January 2021, when the new shelter was confirmed.
The nonprofit social services providers Project Renewal will provide on-site services for the new shelter. Project Renewal was also the provider in charge of services at the temporary homeless shelter within The Lucerne during the height of the pandemic.
