Denim Dealer Madewell Opens New Upper West Side Store

The denim-focused clothing store opened Thursday on Columbus Avenue and West 70th Street.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Clothing brand Madewell opened its newest New York City location Thursday on the Upper West Side, a company spokesperson said.

The new Columbus Avenue store will offer all of Madewell's signature denim clothing as well as the brand's fall and winter collections. Madewell's Upper West Side store is the company's eighth location in New York City and just its second location above 60th Street.

"We're excited to grow our presence in uptown Manhattan and provide an in-store shopping experience for our Upper West Side customers," Joyce Lee, Madewell's head of design, said in a statement.

Grand opening ceremonies will be held at the Columbus Avenue Madewell on Nov. 9 and 10 from 1 to 4 p.m., a company spokesperson said. The festivities will include food and drink provided by the lifestyle publication Bonberi. Local artisans will also be selling their crafts at the store as part of Madewel's "Hometown Heroes" program and a pop-up florist will give customers a free bouquet for any purchase greater than $50.

Madewell's Upper West Side location will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Other neighborhoods with Madewell has opened stores include the Upper East Side, Hudson Yards, SoHo, Williamsburg and the Flatiron and Meatpacking districts.
