NEW YORK CITY — A driver has been found guilty for driving drunk and killing four people in Manhattan, Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani told reporters he was voting in favor of three controversial ballot proposals on Election Day, and other headlines around New York City to start your day.

Drunk Driver Found Guilty On Murder Charges In July 4th NYC Crash: DA

A drunk driver who ran a stop sign and drove into a Manhattan park on the 4th of July last year, killing four people, was found guilty on four counts of second-degree murder on Monday. In addition, to killing four people, he left 7 others injured, authorities said.

Here's How Mamdani Voted On Affordable Housing Ballot Proposals

After dodging questions about the six ballot proposals during his campaign, Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani told reporters Tuesday morning he was voting "yes" on the controversial affordable housing proposals on the ballot, according to several reports.

These proposals would expedite sorely needed affordable housing, but reduce the City Council’s influence over such decisions, changing the power balance in City Hall.

SUV Driver Arrested After Fatally Striking Man On Grand Central Parkway

An SUV driver has been arrested after she fatally struck a 46-year-old man crossing the Grand Central Parkway in Queens on Halloween.

Sharisa Hanson, 40, has been charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle license violation in connection with the Oct. 31 crash.
