Elderly Man Beat Up On UWS Train After Asking To Turn Music Down: NYPD
A 78-year-old man was punched multiple times Thursday after asking a person to turn down their speaker on an UWS train, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An elderly man was beat up on an Upper West Side train Thursday afternoon after he asked another straphanger to turn down a speaker that was playing music on the subway car, police said.
The 78-year-old man was riding a southbound 1 train around 3:30 p.m. as it approached 96th Street, when he went over to a man to ask him to turn the music down, police said.
The man did not comply with the request, but instead, along with a woman companion, proceeded to punch the elderly man multiple times in the face, police said.

The older man was left with bruises and cuts to his face and was transported to Mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The two attackers continued to ride the train until 34th Street, police said. There have been no arrests as of Friday morning.
