EMT Stabbed Multiple Times By Patient At UWS Hospital: Police
A 25-year-old woman working at Mount Sinai West was stabbed Wednesday night at 59th Street, police said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An EMT was stabbed multiple times by a patient at an Upper West Side hospital on Wednesday night, a police spokesperson told Patch.
A 25-year-old on duty EMT was stabbed numerous times by Rudy Garcia, 48, about 9 p.m. in front of Mount Sinai West Hospital on West 59th Street, police said.
Garcia was arrested and the EMT was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, where she is expected to survive, police said.

Garcia was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The accused stabber was an emotionally disturbed person who had initially been picked up by an ambulance for a cardiac arrest call at West 94th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, the New York Post reported.
