UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The wait is nearly over.

New York Comedy Club, the renowned New York comedy institution known for its notable alumni such as Nikki Glaser, Chris Distefano, Pete Davidson, and Tracy Morgan, announced earlier this summer that it had secured a space on the Upper West Side — its first uptown location.

Now the venue at 236 W 78th Street, nestled between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, which reportedly will also include open mic nights, has an opening date set for Aug. 1.

Since its inception in 1989, New York Comedy Club has been a cornerstone of the comedy scene, beginning with its flagship location on E. 24th Street. Now, the new Upper West Side space marks the chain's fourth location, joining its existing clubs in Midtown, the East Village and Connecticut.

Opening night tickets for the event have already sold out, but those who are eager to attend can still join the waitlist for a chance to secure a spot. The lineup features Chris Distefano, Akaash Singh, Chuck Nice, Corinne Fisher and James Mattern.
