UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A fire broke out at the American Museum of Natural History early Tuesday morning, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

An all-hands fire was reported about 1:30 a.m. at the world-famous Upper West Side museum at 200 Central Park West, between West 77th and West 81st streets, FDNY said.

It took about 60 firefighters — one of whom suffered a minor injury — to battle heavy smoke conditions which were under control by 2:30 a.m., said the FDNY.
