Fire At UWS Laundromat, FDNY Says

Sixty firefighters responded to the blaze.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An early morning fire torched the first floor of an apartment building on the Upper West Side early on Friday morning, New York City Fire Department officials said.

According to the FDNY, the fire started on the first floor of a four-story building at 224 West 82nd St. at 6:04 a.m. on Friday. The building has a laundromat on the first floor.

Sixty firefighters responded to the blaze, which was put out about half an hour later, the FDNY said.

There have been no reported injuries, authorities said.

Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
