Friends Robbed By Trio Of Armed Crooks In Central Park: Police
Two buddies hanging out in the park early Wednesday were jumped by three men armed with knives, police said.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A pair of friends sitting on a Central Park bench were jumped early Wednesday by three men armed with knives, police said.
“Hurry up, hurry up or I’ll cut you,” police said the robbers shouted at the two friends.
The terrifying robbery began with an innocent question posed to two 20-year-old pals sitting on a bench near Center Drive and West 64th Street about 12:25 a.m., police said.

A stranger approached the two men and asked them for the time and if they knew the train schedule, NYPD officials said.
Suddenly, the man pulled out a knife and demanded the two friends hand over their wallets and phones, police said.

Two more men, both also armed with knives, ran up, with one shouting at the terrified duo to "hurry up, hurry up or I'll cut you," an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.
The victims handed over everything they had — including a Bluetooth speaker, an iPhone, a Samsung phone, a wallet, debit card, a passport and a school ID, all valued at roughly $950 — and the trio of robbers ran south on foot, police said.
The robbed friend also ran off, hoofing it toward Central Park West and calling the police, officials said.
A police search in the park was unsuccessful, the spokesperson told Patch.
Officials did not have a description to share as of later Wednesday morning.
