Garbage Truck Plows Into Columbus Circle Building, Police Say
The truck hit parked cars, jumped a curb and then slammed into a subway entrance and Fedex store.
COLUMBUS CIRCLE, NY — A garbage truck driver lost control of their vehicle early Wednesday morning, casing mayhem in Columbus Circle, an NYPD spokesman said.
The truck driver was turning east onto Central Park South around 3:25 a.m. when the vehicle lost control, police said. The private sanitation truck slammed into multiple parked cars, jumped the curb and then came to a rest by crashing into a subway entrance and a Fedex store, an NYPD spokesman said.
The truck driver was take to a hospital suffering minor injuries and no pedestrian were hurt during the crash, FDNY officials said.
