Gunshots Ring Out Midday On The Upper West Side: Police

Police confirmed to Patch that shots were fired around 3 p.m. at West 64th Street and Amsterdam.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Gunshots rang out in the middle of the afternoon Thursday on the Upper West Side, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Patch that multiple shots were fired around 3 p.m. at West 64th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

There are no injuries reported and a male shooter fled on foot, police said.

NYPD is canvassing the surrounding area for the man.

The address is across the street from the LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Educational Campus.
