Gym For Children To Open New UWS Location

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A business that emphasizes physical education for younger children is opening a new location on the Upper West Side, according to real estate agents that helped secured the space.

My Gym, which operates more than 500 locations in more than 30 countries, has secured a 10-year lease for a retail space at 209 W. 79th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. Gregory Tannor and Michael Watson of Lee & Associates represented the gym in the lease deal.

The West 79th Street My Gym is the chain's second location on the Upper West Side and its fourth in Manhattan.

"The Upper West Side is filled with families, meaning that businesses offering children’s activities have traditionally done quite well in the neighborhood," Lee & Associates' Gregory Tannor said in a statement. "This new location is also very centrally located with an abundance of surrounding retail options that will appeal to both children and parents alike."

My Gym offers early childhood physical education classes, pre-gymnastics lessons and birthday parties for children ages six to 10. The gym's philosiphy is to aid in childhood development through the practice of sports and exercise.
