This NYC Restaurant Is 1 Of Most Expensive In America
Dinner will set you back $600 per diner, with only one place in the country costing more.

COLUMBUS CIRCLE, NY — Sushi master Masayoshi Takayama's vaunted Columbus Circle restaurant can add another accolade to it's collection: New York State's most expensive restaurant.
The three Michelin-starred Masa, located in the Time Warner Center, was named the state's priciest by dining publication The Daily Meal which remarked: "In order to be the most expensive restaurant in New York, you need to be really expensive, and chef Masayoshi Takayama’s Time Warner Center flagship Masa is without a doubt really, really expensive."
In fact, only one place in the country costs more – LA's Urasawa which, at $1,000-per-person, is likely the priciest in the world.

A meal at Masa, a two-hour experience featuring Japanese dishes and sushi, costs $595 per person. Just snagging a reservation at the exclusive restaurant costs more than a full meal at most restaurants at $250 per guest.
The eye popping prices were set in 2016 when tipping was outlawed at Masa. Before prices were raised, dinner at the restaurant ran $450 per person. Prohibiting tips at the restaurant follows with Japanese customs, according to the restaurant's website.

By hiking prices, the restaurant is better able to pay its staff without having to rely on tips, Eater New York reported in 2016.
Diners at Masa can also opt to push their tab well beyond the $595 flat fare. The restaurant offers a corkage fee of $95 per bottle for up to two bottles of wine and supplements such as a $150 Ohmi beef course and $68 white truffle ice cream.
