Infestation In UWS House Of Mouse: Disney Offices Riddled With Mice
Mickey appears to be throwing a family reunion on the Upper West Side.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - It's not just Mickey taking up residence in the House of Mouse these days.
One building on Disney’s Lincoln Center campus in the Upper West Side was partially evacuated Monday due to an infestation of mice with fleas in tow, according to a Page Six report.
“We have been made aware of persistent pest issues on the 5th floor of [77 W. 66th St.],” reads an internal email to staffers published by the outlet. “Risk management and facilities teams are aware of these issues and working quickly to resolve them. As a result, we ask that you refrain from working from the 5th floor EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.”

It was not immediately clear when the affected employees can expect to return to their desks. Page Six reported that only the fifth floor advertising team was affected by the evacuation.
The 22-story building on the west side has been a part of ABC's Lincoln Center campus since its construction in 1988. Disney flocked to the building after its acquisition of the broadcasting company in 1995.

One source told Page Six the building is set to be razed to make room for new high rises, leaving little incentive for upkeep, including regular elevator operation.
While ABC sold the office building to Silverstein Properties in 2018 for $980 million, according to city property records, the Mouse is still using the Lincoln Center facilities while its new Hudson Square campus is being built. That site - bounded by Vandam, Varick, Spring and Hudson streets - will take up an entire city block for offices and film production space.
The current owner of 77 W. 66th St., Extell Development, bought the property and a slew of other former ABC buildings from Silverstein last year in a $931 million deal. The purchase also included 47 West 66th St., 30 West 67th St., 147 Columbus Ave., 149 Columbus Ave. and 7 West 66th St.
