UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Jacob's Pickles, the Upper West Side institution, is moving locations.

Earlier this week, Jacob Hadjigeorgis, proprietor of the popular Southern-inspired eatery, joined a call with Community Board Seven to deliver surprising news, explaining that their current location was starting to feel a bit cramped.

"We've come to the point where we need a little bit more space and we're going to lose a lot of seating on the patio in due time so we thought it was the right time to make a move," Hadjigeorgis said.

The beloved comfort food destination will soon be moving to the corner of Columbus Avenue and 93rd Street.

Hadjigeorgis says the relocation will provide plenty of additional space, as the restaurant will take over the storefronts formerly occupied by Agave, Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table and New Amsterdam Burger Bar.

"It's basically doubling our space," Hadjigeorgis said.

Fans of Jacob's Pickles can rest assured, as Hadjigeorgis told the Community Board that the new location aims to open its doors by September. He expressed optimism for a swift turnaround, citing the existing infrastructure in the new space.

Debuting in 2011, Jacob’s Pickles swiftly became an integral part of the Upper West Side scene, offering a menu filled with hearty dishes. Notable highlights include fried chicken, biscuits, macaroni and cheese and, naturally, an array of pickles.

While Jacob’s Pickles is the flagship venture for Hadjigeorgis, his restaurant company Pickle Hospitality also operates Maison Pickle, known for its cocktails and French Dip sandwiches, located a block away on Broadway, along with Tiki Chick, a retro-style tiki bar situated at 517 Amsterdam Avenue near West 85th Street.

"Jacob has been an incredible contributor to the community, giving back to the students, to the gardens and to the West Side Campaign Against Hunger. I'm so excited about this," Community Board member Doug Kleiman said.
