Jonah Hill, Vampire Weekend Shoot Music Video In Zabar's: Reports

Shoppers went about their business in the background of the music video shoot.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Jonah Hill and the band Vampire Weekend were spotted filming a music video in Upper West Side institution Zabar's, much to the chagrin of some locals who were just trying to get their shopping done.

Hill and frontman Ezra Koenig were standing behind the fish counter Wednesday at the Broadway grocery store, but weren't doling out helpings of lox. The concept of the video is to show a typical day on the Upper West Side, so shoppers and employees were even brought in to serve as extras, the West Side Rag first reported.

But the situation didn't please some Upper West Siders.

"Many folks were totally oblivious and one lady got mad because the PAs were blocking access to ‘her dinner’ in one of the cases! So Upper West Side," resident Jackie Leitzes told the West Side Rag.

The music video shoot was also spotted at Barney Greengrass on Wednesday, so it appears Hill and Vampire Weekend aren't brand-loyal to Zabar's.

Vampire Weekend is set to release its fourth album, Father of the Bride, later this year. The album will be the band's first since 2013's "Modern Vampires of the City" and the record's first single "Harmony Hall" dropped in January.

Upper West Siders got a sneak peek at some unreleased music during Wednesday's shoot, according to video shared by the West Side Rag.
