Legendary UWS Joint Reopens After Extended Pandemic Closure
P.J. Clarke's reopened its Lincoln Square location on the Upper West Side Thursday with a new set of hours.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — P.J. Clarke's opened its original Third Avenue location in 1884, and while the restaurant has not been on the Upper West Side for nearly as long, it has served customers in the neighborhood for 14 years from 44 West 63rd Street.
The Lincoln Square P.J.'s location reopened on Thursday after an extended closure related to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new operating hours will be noon to 9 p.m. from Thursday through Sunday.

P.J. Clarke's closed its Upper West Side location shortly after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Initially, ownership planned to reopen the West 63rd Street location between March 15 and April 1 of 2021, but pushed it back until Thursday.

Loyal customers took to Instagram to celebrate P.J. Clark's reopening on the UWS.
"Yaaaay, welcome back," one person wrote under the restaurant's reopening post.
"Our favorite reason to walk across the park," another person commented.
P.J. Clarke's received $10 million from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund for all five of its locations. The restaurant has three locations in New York City, one in Philadelphia, and a new joint in Washington D.C.
P.J. Clarke's first opened on the Upper West Side in 2007.
