Man Loses Rolex And More In Violent Midnight Mugging On UWS: Police

A ski-masked ringleader and two accomplices robbed a man of nearly $50K on an UWS block early on Monday morning, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – A 40-year-old man was assaulted and relieved of cash and possessions totaling almost $47,000 on the Upper West Side on Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

At about 12:30 a.m., a gray suburban vehicle approached the victim near the Sol Bloom Playground and PS 84 on 92nd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, according to police.

Three men, who police described as between the ages of 18 and 25, got out of the SUV and approached the victim.

One was wearing a ski mask, hoodie, and black jeans, according to the police report.

“Don’t move,” the ski-masked bandit said. “Yeah, you got money, we know you got money,” he continued, before striking the victim in the face with a black handgun, according to police.

After he was struck, the other two bandits stole “iPhones, a Rolex watch, a wallet, and $300 in cash,” according to police, or about $46,580 in total.

The assailants then got back into the gray SUV and drove away, police said.

The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
