Man Pepper Sprayed By Woman On Upper West Side: Police

Officials said the man was rushed to the hospital after he was attacked by a stranger on Sunday morning.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was pepper sprayed on the Upper West Side Sunday morning by a stranger, police said.

At around 9:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was outside of a luxury West 61st Street building near Riverside Drive when an unknown woman approached him, officials said.

The man was then pepper sprayed by the woman, police said, who then fled the area.

While police had scant details about the incident — including if anything had transpired between the two individuals prior to the chemical spraying — a spokesperson told Patch that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police said there was no suspect description available and that the attack was still under investigation.
