Man Punched On Upper West Side In Unprovoked Attack: Police

A 27-year-old was walking on the Upper West Side when an attacker punched him multiple times in the face, police said Sunday.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was punched multiple times for no apparent reason while walking on the Upper West Side, police said on Sunday.

The 27-year-old man was strolling about 11:10 a.m. on Friday in front of a building on West 65th Street between Columbus and Central Park West, when a man approached him — and without provocation — hit him multiple times in the face, police said.

The attacker ran away, and the man was taken to Mount Sinai West in stable condition with multiple facial fractures, police said.

Police describe the man as in his thirties, with black hair, and facial hair. NYPD released the first picture of the suspect on Sunday.
