Man Robbed Of $500 In Electronics On Upper West Side Train: NYPD

A man was sitting on a 2 train Sunday afternoon near the 72nd Street station when a man approached him and took his items.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police released information and photos Tuesday afternoon of a suspect wanted for robbing a man on the 2 train near the 72nd Street subway station.

Around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, a 40-year-old man was sitting on a southbound 2 train near West 72nd Street when another man approached him and stole about $500 worth of electronics from him, police said Tuesday.

The robber then ran off the train at the next stop, police added.

NYPD did not specify what the electronics were.

The man who was robbed refused medical attention at the scene.

Here is the photo police released Tuesday of the man wanted in connection to the robbery.

The suspect is described by police as between the ages of 30 and 40.

There have been no arrests.

The robbery comes a few weeks after a woman was punched in the face and robbed on a northbound 3 train at the 72nd Street station on Feb. 7.
