Man Robbed At Gunpoint Near UWS McDonald's: Police

A man was robbed early Monday morning, officials said, and ran to a McDonald's for help.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man looking for a midnight snack in a neighborhood McDonald's found himself at the end of a gun barrel early Monday morning, police said.

The man, a 28-year-old, was outside of an Upper West Side McDonald's on Broadway between West 104th and 105th streets at around 12:45 a.m. when a pair of strangers approached him, officials said.

One of the two men pulled out a gun, police said, and grabbed the victim's wallet and cell phone.

The two men then fled past the fast food joint in an unknown direction, police said.

A McDonald's spokesperson said the victim then ran inside the nearby restaurant and asked for help, where the workers let him use the phone to call police.

No injuries were reported and the robbers were still at large at the time of publication.

Police added that detectives have yet to produce surveillance footage of the incident and did not yet have a description of any suspects.

Update: a spokesperson from McDonald's reached out to correct earlier information based off of a preliminary police report which stated that the incident occurred inside the fast-food chain.
