UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person was shot Monday morning as an Upper West Side deli was robbed for the second time in three days, police said.

Four men barged into the Lincoln Convenience deli at 2047 Broadway, between 70th and 71st streets, around 4:20 a.m. and displayed a gun, police said.

A 29-year-old friend sitting with the lone employee working at the time attempted to intervene and was shot in the left foot, according to multiple reports — including the New York Post and WestSideRag.

The New York Post reported that the friend chose to keep the employee company because the store had also been robbed on Friday.

The group of robbers snatched CBD, money and debit cards from the deli, police told Patch.

The 29-year-old was taken to St. Luke's hospital, where he is expected to survive, police added.

An employee at the deli told Patch Monday morning that he was "not interested" in speaking about what happened.

There have been no arrests as of noon on Monday, and police also did not confirm that the robbery was connected to the one on Friday, when two men ransacked the Upper West Side deli.
