Man Tries To Rape Teen Inside Upper West Side Apartment: Police
A stranger tried to rape a 15-year-old girl in February after meeting her near a smoke shop, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man tried to rape a teenage girl inside an Upper West Side apartment, police said.
Details from NYPD officials on what happened during the suspected Valentine’s Day sexual assault remain unclear, but police eventually released the name of the person being sought as Justin Bido, 26.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl, first encountered the suspect Feb. 14 near a smoke shop about 7 a.m., officials said.

An NYPD release did not specify if the encounter was inside the store or on the street. The location of the store was also not included in their description of the incident.
The two spoke, according to officials, and the teen left with him.

Later, while inside an apartment near West 63rd Street and 11th Avenue, the man attempted to rape the teen, police said.
The Daily News reported that the apartment was the home of the suspect.
Police said the victim did not require medical attention as a result of the encounter.
An image of the suspect was shared by police. Officials first told Patch that the man was unknown to the department, only saying that they did know the person depicted after repeated inquiry.
