Manhattanville Teacher Charged After Reported Student Punch: NYPD
The NYC public school teacher was charged Thursday after reportedly punching a preteen pupil in the chest, authorities said.

MANHATTANVILLE, NY - A Manhattanville public school teacher was charged Thursday after reportedly punching a preteen student in the chest, authorities said.
Brian Thomas, 33, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment after throwing the punch at PS 161 in Manhattanville on West 133rd Street about 12:30 p.m., police said.
The 12-year-old victim reported minor injuries and was taken by medics to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Thomas was on-duty teaching at the time of the reported punch, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the schoolhouse brawl.
