Michelin-Starred Sushi Restaurant To Open On UWS, Report Says

Sushi Inoue will open its second location on West 64th Street between Broadway and Central Park West.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A sushi restaurant with a Michelin-star pedigree is set to open its second New York City location on the Upper West Side, according to reports.

Sushi Inoue will open in a space at 35 W. 64th St., located between Broadway and Central Park West, the New York Post first reported. The new restaurant will occupy 3,800 square feet and seat 150 patrons, according to the report.

The restaurant was founded in 2015 by Nagasaki-born chef Shinichi Inoue in Harlem. The original Sushi Inoue, located on Lenox Avenue near West 129th Street, became the first Harlem restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star in 2017, according to the Michelin Guide. The restaurant maintained its Michelin star status in 2018.

Sushi Inoue is well-respected for its high-end omakase offerings. The Harlem location currently offers three different omakase options priced at $275, $225 and $175. Each menu features a selection of appetizers, small dishes and, of course, Inoue's handmade sushi.

The Winick Realty Group represented both the restaurant and the landlord in lease negotiations, the New York Post reported.
