Military Jets To Fly Over Hudson River Tuesday

Don't be alarmed if you see two Navy fighter jets flying above New York City.

NEW YORK, NY — If you see two sets of fighter jets over New York City on Tuesday, don't be alarmed — it's part of a scheduled flyover.

The Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet aircraft — twin-engine fighter jets nicknamed the "hornet" — will begin to fly over the Hudson River around 11 a.m, police told Patch. The jets will begin their flight at the bottom of the river and continue up toward the Tappan Zee Bridge, police said.

A second set of jets will begin a flyover on the same route at 12 p.m., police said. The second group will reverse course upon reaching the Tappan Zee and fly by the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge before ending the flight.
