Millions Coming To UWS From NYC's 2024 Budget: Here's Where
Council Member Gale Brewer shared with Patch a breakdown of the funding she helped secure for the UWS in the most recent city budget.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The record-high $107 billion New York City budget passed on the last day of June, and local Council Member Gale Brewer shared with Patch a breakdown of how the money will benefit the Upper West Side.
Brewer played a significant role in the budget process as a member of the Budget Negotiating Team.
"It was a difficult budget to negotiate because the Mayor cut essential programs that the Council had to restore, there is less federal money compared to last year, there are a multitude of crises facing the City, and there are key areas that need additional investments," Brewer said in a release about the budget process.
