UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side is getting a new grocery store.

Morton Williams signed a lease on Thursday with plans to open a location the length of a whole block on Broadway between West 68th and 69th streets in 2023, a spokesperson from the grocery store confirmed to Patch.

The store will be within the Dorchester Towers luxury apartment building, which is across the street from the old Food Emporium, which closed in 2013.

WestSideRag reported that the existing businesses already on the ground floor will be forced out, including the Team 7 store and the COVID testing site.

It will be the third Morton Williams in the nearby area, with another store at West 60th Street and West End and another across the park at East 87th Street and Madison Avenue.
