New Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks Thriller Show Filming On UWS

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Hollywood coming to the Upper West Side this week could mean parking headaches for some residents.

Posted signs have gone up in the neighborhood alerting community members that certain streets will be closed for parking this week as the upcoming thriller series, "The Better Sister," begins filming.

Today's filming will be at 82nd Street and Riverside Drive. On Thursday, residents can visit the set and look for stars at Central Park West and 66th Street.

As is customary with any street shoots, all cars parked in the area will have to be moved the night prior to action being called; in this case, vehicles will be towed to the nearest legal spot if not moved by Wednesday at 10 p.m.

While specific details of this week's scenes remain unconfirmed, "The Better Sister" is an adaptation of the 2019 New York Times bestselling novel by Alafair Burke.

The film features prominent stars such as Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks.

“The Better Sister” is described as a thriller about Chloe (Biel), who leads a seemingly idyllic life with her lawyer husband Adam and their teenage son Ethan. Meanwhile, Chloe's estranged sister Nicky (Banks) struggles to stay clean while trying to make ends meet.

When Adam is murdered, the shocking prime suspect sets off a chain of events that exposes long-hidden family secrets, per the official description.

According to People.com, Banks and Biel have been filming the new Prime Video series, in New York since early June.

"The Better Sister" adds to the list of high-profile television productions filming uptown, alongside projects like Robert DeNiro's "Zero Day" and popular series such as Netflix's "You" and Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building."

A launch date for Amazon's “The Better Sister” hasn't been announced yet.
