A New Legal Weed Shop Opens On The Upper West Side

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Flowery, a legal cannabis dispensary, has officially opened its doors on the Upper West Side this week, making it the third legal shop in the neighborhood.

The Flowery has taken over the old Soul Cycle location on Broadway between 91st Street and 92nd Street, right next to the Equinox, giving it a modern, flower-power makeover.

The dispensary sells cannabis in a variety of forms — pre-rolled joints, edibles, tinctures, and more, according to its website. But, whether you're canna-curious or a seasoned connoisseur, there's something for everyone at the shop, Moe Ashor, operating partner at The Flowery, said.

"Our goal is to be a neighborhood dispensary that offers the warmth and personalization of a local shop while benefiting from The Flowery’s infrastructure," Ashor said.

The Flowery is a small chain with locations in Soho, Williamsburg, Forest Hills, and Staten Island. Soon, the company will open a sixth location in the East Village.

"We’re dedicated to delivering an unmatched customer experience, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors gets exactly what they want and need," Ashor said.

The new dispensary joins a growing list of legal weed dispensaries on the Upper West Side, including Just A Little Higher which opened last April, and Flower Power, which opened last March.

For Ashor, opening a dispensary on the Upper West Side means more than just opening a business.

"The Upper West Side holds a special place in my heart," Ashor said. "I spent countless days here visiting my grandfather who lived in this neighborhood his entire life. To now be part of this community in such a meaningful way is truly humbling."

To celebrate The Flowery's grand opening, the dispensary will be throwing an all-day party on Saturday with a live DJ, "exclusive strains" of weed, fun activities, freebies, and more. Learn more about the event here.
