Person Fatally Struck By Train On Upper West Side, MTA Says
The person was hit at the Broadway and West 96th Street station.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person died Friday morning after being struck by a train in an Upper West Side subway station, MTA officials announced.
The person was hit around 11 a.m. on the northbound track of the Broadway and West 96th Street station, MTA officials said. The transit agency shut down third rail power to all northbound trains on the 1 and 3 lines as emergency responders operated at the scene.
Service on the 1, 2 and 3 lines resumed with delays around 11:45 a.m., transit officials said.

Friday's fatality is the second time a person has been killed by a train this week on the Upper West Side. A man died Tuesday night after falling onto the southbound track of the West 72nd Street and Central Park West station.
