Person Struck And Killed By Train On UWS At 86th Street: NYPD

It is the second time in five days that a person has jumped in front of an incoming train on the Upper West Side, police told Patch.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person was struck and killed by a train Wednesday morning at the 86th Street 1 train station, a police spokesperson told Patch.

A person jumped in front of an incoming 1 train around 10:15 a.m. at the Upper West Side station, police said. The person was ruled dead at the scene, police said.

It is the second time in five days that a person has been killed after jumping in front of an incoming train in the neighborhood.

A man in his 40s jumped in front of a southbound 3 train as it pulled into 96th Street on Friday, police said.

The 1, 2, and 3 train lines are disrupted in Manhattan while emergency teams respond, and 1 trains are not running between Times Square and 137th Street in either direction, the MTA said.
