Pizza Place Sign Appears In Front Of Old UWS Hot And Crusty
The long time Upper West Side Hot & Crusty closed in January, and now it looks like a new pizza joint is taking its spot.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Hot & Crusty was on the Upper West Side for more than two decades before closing in January, but now it looks like a new pizza place is taking over the vacant storefront.
A sign for Sforno, with the words "FRESH FROM THE OVEN," recently appeared above the empty property.
The storefront is located between 87th and 88th Streets on Broadway.

Construction workers at the site told several Upper West Side residents that it would be a pizza place, according to the local community website ILoveTheUpperWestSide.
Patch was not able to get in contact with Pan Brother Associates, the real estate company that owns the property, nor Sforno management. However, this story will be updated when either party provides more information.

It is hard to figure out a whole lot about Sforno, as there are pizza restaurants with the same name in Boulder, Colorado, and Rome, Italy. Yet, neither of these locations have anything on their social media accounts or websites that indicates a new location opening on the Upper West Side of New York City.
This is a developing story, please check back in later.
