Police Release Photos Of UWS Subway Stabbing Suspects

A group of men is wanted in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old on a 96th Street subway platform.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD released photos of several men wanted in connection with an Upper West Side stabbing that left a teenager hospitalized.

A 16-year-old was standing on the subway platform at the West 96th Street and Central Park West station at 1:40 a.m. Monday when he was approached by a group men who engaged him in a dispute, police said. The argument turned violent when the group attacked the teenager on the platform, police said.

During the fight, the teenager was slashed multiple times with an unknown object and suffered lacerations to his face, arms and chest, police said. EMS rushed the man to St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.

The group of men fled the subway station after the stabbing and no arrests have been made, an NYPD spokesman said. Police could not confirm a possible motive for the attack.

The victim was not identified by police.
