UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A popular Italian restaurant and wine bar just opened a location on the Upper West Side.

Felice, which already has six other New York City outposts, recently welcomed patrons at 240 Columbus Avenue, near West 71st Street.

The new restaurant covers two levels spanning nearly 4,000 square feet, with a main ground-level dining room with wall-to-ceiling windows and a 42 and a half-foot bar. The lower level includes an intimate cocktail and wine lounge.

"At this Upper West Side addition to the Felice restaurants, with locations on the Upper East Side and elsewhere, Iacopo Falai, a native Florentine and the culinary director for SA Hospitality, which owns Felice and the Sant Ambroeus restaurants, has done some homework," wrote New York Times reporter Florence Fabricant. “'It’s hospitality for the neighborhood,'” he said, of adding a smoked fish platter, rigatoni with fresh and smoked salmon, and even cured herring with jardinière to the otherwise Tuscan menu."

The bar on the main floor has 20 seats, along with the 65-seat dining room, according to the Times.

In December 2020, Felice ran a promotion from its Midtown West location where it offered a complimentary plate of its signature Fusilli al Ferreto e Burrata pasta to residents specifically on the Upper West Side.
