Popular Taco Truck Opening Latest Outpost In Upper West Side

The iconic taco truck is bringing its consome and authentic Tijuana tacos to the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The iconic Queens-based taco truck, Birria-Landia, is gearing up to open its latest Manhattan outpost, this time on the Upper West Side.

The taco truck, with locations in Jackson Heights, Williamsburg, Fordham and the Lower East Side, is moving uptown, bringing its popular consome and authentic Tijuana tacos to the Upper West Side.

Located at the intersection of Broadway and W. 72nd Street, Birria-Landia is set to open Friday at 5 p.m., according to company officials. All patrons that come on opening night will be able to enjoy a free menu item plus a drink on the house.

The brand new truck will serve the same small menu of birria tacos, tostadas, mulitas and consome soup, mirroring the offerings available at their existing locations.

The mobile taqueria will operate from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. following its opening, making it perfectly suited to cater to the late-night crowd.

"Mark your calendars and bring your appetites. Let’s make this opening unforgettable," Birria-Landia wrote on social media, announcing the opening date.

Owner José Moreno opened the first location of Birria-Landia with his brother Jesús in the fall of 2019.

Within a few months of its opening, the taco truck situated on Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights received a rare two-star review from a New York Times critic, propelling birria tacos into a citywide sensation, according to Eater.
