Popular UWS Bike Store Shuttering Its 96th Street Location: Big Sale

The Trek bicycle store will be closing up its shop at 96th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam, and moving into its 72nd Street outpost.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A popular Upper West Side bike shop is closing its storefront on 96th Street and merging with an outpost elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Trek Bicycle will have its final day at 231 W. 96th St., between Broadway and Amsterdam, on Aug. 27, according to its website and as first reported by the WestSideRag.

The business will merge with its location at 156 W. 72nd St., between Amsterdam and Columbus.

"We're gearing up to move with a massive sale!" Trek's website reads. "Stop by before August 27 to save big on all you favorite products."

Everything in the 96th Street store must go, and you can get 20 percent off all bikes and 50 percent off all gear.

The sale is also valid at its Hell's Kitchen and Bowery locations.

The Trek 72nd Street location is closed on Sundays and Mondays, open Tuesdays to Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"We truly believe the world is better with bikes, which is why we’re committed to advocating for better bike lanes to benefit our whole community," reads a message from the Trek 72nd Street team. "However you ride, and whatever your experience, we welcome you to stop in, say hi, and meet our team."
