UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A plan to renovate sections of a popular Upper West Side playground has gained steam after State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal announced the state has allocated $1 million toward the renovation.

Funding from a State and Municipal Facilities grant has been designated for the enhancement of the Little Engine Playground, located between 67th and 68th streets along Riverside Drive within Riverside Park South.

"Recently, I presented a $1 million state grant to the beloved Little Engine Playground, which has delighted train-obsessed tykes on the Upper West Side for decades and will make the park more accessible and safer for children for years to come," Hoylman-Sigal said.
