NEW YORK CITY — Rain blanketed New York City overnight Sunday into Monday making for a slippery morning commute, and more is to come later in the week, forecasters say.

According to meteorologists from the National Weather Service, New Yorkers can expect more rain on Monday night, and then again on Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures in the high 40s and low 50s — a stark change after an unseasonably cold weekend, which had temperatures in the low 20s.

For Friday, forecasters say there is a 40 percent chance of snow, as the thermostat will dip back below the freezing point for another frigid weekend.
