UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The longtime New York City-based beauty retailer Ricky's has closed its store on the Upper West Side as part of a larger reduction that will leave the business with just two Manhattan stores.

The inventory was recently moved out of the Ricky's at 112 W. 72nd St., near Columbus Avenue, and the store's signs were removed from the windows, neighborhood blog I Love the Upper West Side first reported.

In June, Ricky's announced it would close all but two of its stores in Manhattan. Only the Union Square and SoHo stores are expected to remain open after the cutdown, but founder Ricky Kenig expressed doubts about the business' ability to stay afloat going forward. Kenig sold most of his stake in the business in 2012.
