Signs Appear For New Shoe Store On The Upper West Side

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A new shoe store could be opening its doors on the Upper West Side.
Signs have recently gone up for Hoka, an athletic shoe company, on the vacant storefront at 197-199 Columbus Ave. at West 69th Street, as confirmed to Patch by Upper West Siders and as first reported by ILoveTheUpperWestSide.
The newly displayed sign advertises the company's new women's Bondi 8 shoe.

Hoka makes a variety of shoes for pro and beginning runners, as well as for those looking for the right footwear for trail running and simple neighborhood walks.
"Because every run is about more than just a run," reads a slogan on Hoka's website. "It's about finding oneself. Losing oneself. Movement is good magic. For all of us. Come on, gear up."

Hoka first opened in 2009.
The shoe store will be replacing the clothing chain Reiss, which shuttered its Upper West Side storefront in June.
Hoka did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
It will be joining and competing with other shoe stores on the Upper West Side such as Harry's Shoes, Tip-Top Shoes, and All Birds.
