'Summer Jazz Sensation' Concerts Return To UWS: Here's What To Know
A free jazz concert will take place every Wednesday from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Dante Park at Broadway and West 64th Street.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Few things pair better together than warm weather and music — and an upcoming free jazz festival is coming to the Upper West Side to deliver that combo.
The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District is launching its annual Summer Jazz Sensations concert series at Dante Park on Wednesday.
A total of fourteen free performances from noon to 1:30 p.m. will take place every Wednesday through Sept. 18, announced City Council Member Gale Brewer.

"Lunchtime on Wednesdays is about to become your favorite time of the week," reads an explanation of the concert series on the Business Improvement District's website.
The inaugural performance of the year will feature the Dave Stryker Trio, comprising Stryker on guitar, Jared Gold on organ, and McClenty Hunter on drums. Notably, the trio recently served as the opening act for Steely Dan's 2022 summer tour.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy light refreshments and snacks from Le Botaniste, available for purchase during the concert.
This year’s full lineup of performers, which was curated by saxophonist Eric Person, includes:
- 6/26: Shirley Crabbe Quartet vocals
- 7/3: Bill Ware and The Club Bird All-Stars
- 7/10: Steve Kroon Sextet with special guest Carla Cook
- 7/17: Pat Bianchi Trio classic organ
- 7/24: Eric Walentowicz Group with special guest Bronte Roman
- 7/31: Lezlie Harrison Quartet vocals
- 8/7: Gabriele Tranchina Band vocals
- 8/14: Kenny Davis Quartet, Bassist and composer
- 8/21: Ron Jackson Trio with special guest Ashley Pizzotti
- 8/28: Duane Eubanks Quartet, Trumpeter/composer
- 9/4: David Janeway Quintet, Jazz piano
- 9/11: Cynthia Scott with special guest Houston Person vocals
- 9/18: Eric Person and Rhythm Edge, Saxophonist and composer
The Summer Jazz Sensations concert series receives funding and support from Council Member Brewer and the City Council.
The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District, a nonprofit organization, focuses on providing additional sanitation and security services, improving public spaces, and promoting businesses and cultural offerings within the Lincoln Square community.
