Suspect Identified In Central Park Anti-Semitic Attack: Police

NYPD identified Perin Jacobchuk, 32, on Thursday as the chief suspect in an anti-Semitic attack that left a man's hand broken in December.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — NYPD identified a suspect on Thursday wanted for an anti-Semitic attack that happened in Central Park last month, police said.

Perin Jacobchuk, 32, is wanted in connection to an attack that happened on Dec. 14, where a person attacked a man from behind in the world-famous park and yelled anti-Semitic remarks, police said.

A 63-year-old man was walking through Central Park near the intersection of Terrace Drive and East Drive about 7:30 p.m., when he was hit from behind, police said.

The man went tumbling to the ground, causing him to chip his tooth and break his hand, police said.

The attacker then stood over the victim and yelled anti-Semitic remarks, before biking away westbound on 72nd Street, police said.

The attacker had a trailer connected to his bike that appeared to carry various miscellaneous items, including a sign that read, "Hungry Disabled," police said.

The 63-year-old took himself to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
