Columbus Circle Suspicious Package Deemed Safe: NYPD

The NYPD bomb squad investigated a suspicious package at a Starbucks on the corner of West 60th Street and Broadway.

COLUMBUS CIRCLE, NY — A suspicious package left outside a coffee shop in Columbus Circle was deemed safe, an NYPD spokesman said.

The NYPD bomb squad investigated the package Wednesday afternoon at 1841 Broadway, the NYPD spokeswoman says. The address is a Starbucks location on the corner of Broadway and West 60th Street, one block north of the traffic circle.

An NYPD spokesman could not confirm what was inside the package.

The suspicious package drew a large NYPD and FDNY response to the area, according to witness video. The responders shut down a portion of Broadway during the investigation.
