Target To Hire Hundreds For New Columbus Circle Store
Hiring events will be held in Manhattan on August 26 and 27 for Target's new store in Columbus Circle.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Retail giant Target is expanding its footprint in New York City and plans to hire as many as 160 employees for its soon-to-open store in the Columbus Circle area, a companys spokesperson said.
Target will hold hiring events for its 160-person team at the West 61st Street and Broadway store next week on Aug. 26 and 27, a company spokesperson said. Target is looking to hire general team members who are responsible for tasks such as customer service, working the stock room, working as a cashier and completing other general tasks around the store.
"We are building a talented team of 160 new team members who will help us meet the needs of Midtown West and Upper West Side residents, as well as Central Park visitors and Columbus Circle shoppers. At Target, we value the people who help us serve the local community and look forward to providing them meaningful opportunities to build and develop valuable career skills," Steven Dyba, a Target store director, said in a statement.

The job fairs will be held at the Target Studio at 521 W. 25th St., located between 10th and 11th avenues, according to a company press release. Job seekers can stop by between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Target's Columbus Circle store will open in a 34,000-square-foot space with inventory tailored to meet the needs of local residents, area commuters and tourists. The new store will also offer shoppers the opportunity to place orders ahead of time with in-store pickup, Target officials said.

Target secured its lease for the new location with real estate firm AvalonBay Communities. An executive at the firm said AvalonBay is "thrilled" that the store will occupy retail space in its development at 1865 Broadway. The development is expected to rise 416 feet tall and contain 172 apartment units, according to plans filed with the city Department of Buildings.
Target is likely to occupy the development's entire retail component.
